Single music release! (Aume - getting off the train)

Today is a really hot mid-summer day. It is so humid outside and I can hear the neighborhood quiet down as people stay inside their air-conditioned homes and escape the city. Anyyyhowww....

A few weeks ago I published a song titled "getting off the train". Every time I release a song my heart rate goes up and I feel kinda sick. But then it goes away after a few days and I feel like my normal self again. Now I am back to my normal self and can write a proper blog post for the song.

I originally wrote this song about a year ago but never had the chance to record/edit it. The lyrics in this song used to be a lot darker, for instance I had to change the opening line from "give in to my voice" to "getting off the train". It was originally about big brother and the book 1984. My intent was for the song to be a reflection of our capitalist economic system. I am currently addicted to writing about anything critical or reflective of our capitalist system.

Here are the lyrics:

Getting off the train

it's been another day

I was hoping that you might

watch the leaves with me

Everything just grows up

Till we can't find our way out,

Slip into the crowd now

And I fight for you daily

Subconsciously my only hope is a crown

Feel like I die for you daily

But in the end, all I want is to run

Fell into the void

Cannot go to sleep, was hoping that you might

Watch the reels with me

Notice all distance that's put between existence

And the storming clouds now

But I can't fight for you daily

subconsciously my mind takes off the crown

I can't die for you daily

Cause in the end, all I want is to run

The photo accompanying the music is of a highway and ending sunset in the background. The photo is by the photographer, Olivia Bizimungu. I highly recommend checking out her Instagram account (@oliviabiz) for her upcoming photography projects.
